Allianz, a large international insurance carrier conducts an annual retirement surveys. There latest survey shows some interesting results. None of these are a surprise to our advisors because we meet every day with clients and prospects who voice similar outlooks. What the study showed: 1. 58% of baby-boomers fear outliving their money more than death! Death being better than living without money. 2. 76% of baby boomers would rather have a 4% guaranteed return with no risk than an 8% return with risk. It’s nice we can provide 7% with no risk. 3. The future economic pessimism has bumped baby boomers average target retirement to 66.5 from 63 (2010). Yikes! For the last 18 months we have been focusing on “secure income replacement” and “safe money options” almost exclusively with our clients and prospects. Thanks to Steve Richman for getting this survey to me.
